Grey Goose ~ Watercolour Wednesday

Image
No, it's not a painting of a bottle of vodka ! This is an actual goose. And he's grey! (Or gray for my American friends).  Done on a scrap piece of Arches watercolour paper, and embellished with a touch of ink. Honk! Grey Goose 7.5" X 11"

Duck, Duck, Goose!

Image
Phew! I've been working on this one for over a week. It's been a while since I've done a larger full collage, and I forgot how much work goes into it. But I enjoyed every minute. It's quite meditative. Since I don't have ducks and geese walking around my back yard, I've based this on a couple of fun reference photos, from Paint My Photo and Wetcanvas. This is:                                               Duck, Duck, Goose!                                                                    12" X 24"                                                           ...

Another Wednesday Watercolour and Happy New Year!

Image
I missed last Wednesday's watercolour, but I decided to do a little ink and wash sketch of a little family of geese that we saw at the Brigden fair this past October. Just a little quickie painting to end the year! Happy New Year everyone! Mother Goose and Goslings 5" X 7"

A Gaggle of Geese ~ Watercolour Wednesday

Image
Here is a quick sketch of a gaggle of geese in the snow. Reference photo courtesy of the great website Paint My Photo . It has given me an idea for a potential collage painting in the future....stay tuned! Gaggle of Geese 5" X 7" Watercolour and ink on Arches 140 lb CP

Sold at the Show!

Image
I was very pleased to see that my "Follow the Leader" geese collage was sold at the opening reception of the Desmond Juried Art Exhibition and Sale last night! Thank you to Jennifer Wilson's mom for purchasing it! It's going to a good home.

My Gaggle of Geese is done!

Image
I think this is done! I just need to give it a couple coats of varnish and it's good to go! I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Honk! Geese crossing!

I'm getting close to completing my Geese Collage! When I first started this, I had assumed that these were domestic geese, but after a bit of research on the markings on their wings and beaks, I've discovered that they are snow geese. Even better! These three fellows are on their winter vacation and have found a lovely waterfront to hang out at. I just have to finish the grasses and cattails and I'm done!

Last One in is a Rotten Egg collage WIP

I finally got started on my collage of the three geese. So far I've done the background. Next I will work on the geese themselves and then I will be adding some grasses and cattails. This is going to be a fun one!

Three White Geese ~ a Watercolour study

Image
This morning was wet and dull outside, perfect for staying inside and sketching! I decided to do a small study in preparation for a larger collage piece. I got inspiration from a great photo on the website Paint My Photo  for some white geese. So while watching the Rhythmic Gymnastics on the Olympics, I sketched these fellows heading in for a dip in the pond. 7" X 9" on Illustration board © Patricia Henderson 2012
