I decided to get out my garden journal sketchbook, but there wasn't much yet to sketch that I hadn't done last year.
The only flowers that were blooming in abundance were these dandelions!

It felt good to get outside with the pen and paints!
I have a book called The Painted Garden by Mary Woodin. I think you might be interested. It would help inspire you to keep painting in your journal. These are pretty, dandelions
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fresh sketch! I love it :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't like the way dandelions populate my yard! Grrr.
Melanie, I'll have to go check out that book, it sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteCrystal, thanks! I know what you mean. Around here they have banned pesticides that would kill off dandelions, so we'll have many more of them for sure! Good for the environment, bad for my lawn! LOL
We have an abundance of Dandelions too. They are so cheerful looking though.

Thanks Ona!
ReplyDeleteI spent a good hour popping these out of my front yard. I'm only about 1/3 done!
Nice work. They have a nice glow to them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandeep!
ReplyDeleteWell you made those dandelions full of beauty! What do you use to do your sketchbook. A recent seminar with Judi Betts inspired me to keep one on me and sketch whatever is around. I took my watercolor pencils, but I haven't been able to achieve that fresh tube paint look with them. I'm curious how you accomplished such clean vibrancy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl! See my newest post for what I use.
