Spring Chicken

You've heard the expression, "She's no spring chicken!" Well this girl is! Okay, so maybe her comb isn't as grand as the Rooster next door, but she's got attitude and can tiptoe through the tulips with the best of them!

This painting is 14" X 10" and consists of handpainted and found papers applied to gallery wrapped canvas. I discovered that I had almost no rusty brown or gold papers, so had fun making some with various textures. My friend Sue Galos and I spent a fun blizzardy afternoon a couple of years ago in the dollar store picking up things that we thought would make a good texture when pressed on wet painted paper. I made use of a lot of them! Maybe on another post I'll show you some if you'd like.

  1. I would love to see those textured tools!. This is a wonderful mixed piece what fun you've been having

  2. Patty,
You are on a roll with these wonderful collages. I would love to see them in person where the various materials and textures would show up.

  3. Thanks Melanie! Next weekend I'll show you some of those "tools" and the textures they make.

Thank you Sylvia, I'll try to get some closeup shots so you can see details.

  4. Love this piece! So colorful and exciting! :)

  5. So vibrant! She's a mate for the rooster, for sure!

  6. That's got pizzazz!! I can see you marketing this big time!! WOW!
